Pilates is suitable for all body types and all age groups (17 yrs. and above) and each class is a whole body workout
Beginners Course: Look out for our 6 week beginners courses, (occurring in line with the school term) This takes you through the basic concepts of Pilates and gradually builds up to a basic mat routine
Fundamental Pilates: A gentler class where the classical exercises are broken down and the pace is slower
Mat All Levels: Flows through the basic classical mat routine, often with and added focus on a piece of equipment or body connection
Intermediate: A workout including some of the more challenging exercises, transitions and working at a quicker pace

About Me
My name is Rhianon Kennard, and I am an independent Pilates instructor. When not working I’m out walking, running or cycling in the countryside, enjoying being active and getting lots of fresh air.
I started my Pilates journey when I signed up for a Beginner’s course back in 2013 at Barefoot Studio in Cowbridge. I enjoyed how well it was taught and was impressed by the body awareness it gave me. I was encouraged to train as an instructor by my sister, who found that pilates had a wonderful effect on her bad back. She was very happy not to need to visit her chiropractor any longer.
I began working in Barefoot Studio in 2015, gaining experience there teaching classes and individuals. I set up Sgŵp Pilates in September 2022 which has gone from strength to strength.
Teaching as a fully comprehensive Level 3 Peak Pilates instructor, with 8 years of experience behind me, I feel better placed than ever to share what Pilates has brought to me. I am now fitter and stronger than I have ever been (and I don’t suffer from the family’s ‘bad back’ problem!). I love helping people improve their core strength, and through that their ability to move better. Seeing how people feel fitter and more flexible because of my teaching, that is very rewarding.
